Liquid gas - technically LPG (Liquified Petroleum Gas) - from the bottle with clean combustion in the caravan or motor home ensures that you can cook, heat or cool. Gas is clean and harmless. There are nevertheless some things to consider.
The pressure regulator must reduce the cylinder pressure of up to 16 bar to the operating pressure of the devices, usually 30 mbar. To do this, it is flanged directly to the gas cylinder and tightened firmly by hand - Important note: left-hand thread.
The housing of a gas regulator is sealed against the cover by a flexible, spring-loaded diaphragm. It should be noted that when replacing control devices, only regulators marked according to DIN EN 12864, Appendix D, may be used.
If you want to operate several gas appliances with high consumption at the same time, you should use the larger 11 kg bottle instead of the 5 kg bottle, which easily fits into today's vehicle bottle crates. This applies in particular to the winter camping, since the possible gas withdrawal always also depends on the bottle size currently in operation. A 33 kg bottle that is placed outside the vehicle can also do a good job here.

Please always ensure safety: Do not use gas-powered appliances while driving the caravan. Unless there is a safety barrier in place.

There is no uniform gas supply in the camping sector in Europe, instead there are numerous different connection systems. This is linked to the following problem when your own cylinder is empty: foreign gas cylinders often do not fit to the connections in the caravan.

In this case, the European withdrawal set provides a remedy: This set contains four different adapters which allow the connection of German gas regulators to other European cylinders. If you want to have your gas cylinder refilled on the way, you should also have the Europe Filling Set on board, which can be used to fill German camping gas cylinders abroad.

Refillable Alu Gas Cylinder are another alternative. These are equipped with an automatic 80% filling stop.
The filling process must stop when 11.4 kg LPG has been reached in the bottle, refuelling is possible at any time.

Those who refuel their bottles themselves do not have to carry heavy exchange containers. In addition, LPG, also known as GPL, is around 50 cents cheaper per kilogram than cylinder gas. In foreign countries, tank cylinders also facilitate the supply, because internationally you can refill your supplies at any time at many LPG filling stations; since the nozzles can differ from country to country, you may only need the appropriate adapter.

Although the nozzles may vary from country to country, there are also inexpensive small brass adapters so that you can really refuel anywhere and at any time.
