How do I recognise a good camping chair?

A good camping chair fits the user. It has an ergonomic basic shape and a high backrest. It fits the dimensions (seat height and depth), has a neck and lumbar support and enables comfortable sitting and lying.
In many cases, therefore, there are suitable footrests for the high leg position.
Good chairs should therefore have a variety of adjustment options on the backrest, sweat can be easily transported away via the fabric and must of course also be able to carry heavy adults in the long term via the tubular frame, the hinge technology and the rest in the armrests without any problems, without anything breaking or warping.

Since weight and transport volume are always important when camping, small packing dimensions and the chair's own weight are always a criterion when travelling.

After a rain shower, the fabric should dry quickly, be colour stable and easy to clean.

Are comfort and ergonomics a contradiction?

Sitting comfortably in the great outdoors is only possible if basic ergonomic rules are observed. The first rays of sunshine lure you into the fresh air and a camper likes to spend a few hours together in the awning. For an optimum seat depth between the seat and the hollow of the knee, there should therefore be room for two to three fingers. When the angle between the lower thigh and the thigh is 90 degrees when sitting, the chair fits the user.
The ergonomics of a camping chair also include a slightly reclined seat, a long backrest and good adjustability up to the lying position.

How do you sit correctly in a camping chair?

Healthy sitting is moving sitting. In other words, sometimes leaning back, sometimes upright, sometimes lying down. Changes in load and dynamics are important.
