More than 25 years ago, Heinz Wischnewski and Matthias Gomoluch decided to set up their own business. Both had learnt the trade of tentmaking from scratch and had a concentrated amount of specialist knowledge. This was to be used together. The company WIGO-Zelte was founded.

In the first few years, they produced numerous awning variants under other people's names for renowned manufacturers and established wholesalers. During this time, close contact was established with the leading caravan and motorhome manufacturers. This advantage keeps WIGO-Zelte close to the market and to the innovations of the motorhome manufacturers. This puts WIGO-Zelte in a position to present the customer with a functional awning solution in a modern design, even for unusual vehicle shapes.

WIGO is proud to be one of the few manufacturers of awnings for caravans and motorhomes to produce in Germany.  (with the exception of a single sun canopy).

It is important to WIGO to strengthen and maintain Germany as a production location for its awning and tent products, even if this is becoming more difficult in the increasing price war.
