Good inflatable awnings have multi-sheathed air hoses that protect the inner hose from damage and guarantee a uniform cylindrical shape of the air hose for years to come. After all, the air hose should remain taut and evenly formed when the awning is exposed to strong sunlight or major temperature fluctuations between day and night.

You can use a normal piston pump. But of course you can also use an electric air pump. Many of them can be connected to the car battery or have a powerful battery themselves. So you don't even need an external power source to pump up an air pole tent. With the inflowing air, the awnings for caravans or buses erect themselves evenly until they finally reach the set pressure in the hose and the pump switches off.
